Game 21 | Yankees, 4 — Orioles, 1 | July 26
Ballpark Summary
The building of Camden Yards was a major turning point in the history
of baseball stadiums. Camden Yards was revolutionary, first in the
current fleet of modern/retro ballparks. The park features Eutaw
Street, a very nice brick avenue of restaurants, bar & grills,
and shops. During gametime, only ticket holders have access to this
area.
Ballpark Perks

Camden Yards fits seamlessly into its environment. The clock tower
and the old B&O Warehouse (now the Orioles front office) are perfect
neighbors. The field dimensions and seating arrangement are pretty
standard, with a standing room platform in CF. Possibly the best
hot dog of the trip was found outside the stadium. The hot dog itself
was amazing, but the $1.25 price tag sealed the deal. Inside the
ballpark there was a caricature artist. The caricature above is
of Tim. That little bird in the lower left corner is an Oriole and
he is saying “welcome.” The van has the name of the trip
and the trip logo. Tim is saying “I love this game.” Caricature
by Rick Wright & Co.
Ballpark Downers
The Babe Ruth statue. C’mon guys, he didn’t even play for the Orioles.
(He was born in Baltimore.) We saw the Yankees beat up on the Orioles.
That’s baseball, but when there are annoying Yankees fans, who seem
to be everywhere, the loss has a bit more sting. |
