Game 22 | Astros, 5 — Braves, 13 | July 29
Ballpark Summary
Fortunately for our home team record, we caught up with the Astros
in Atlanta. It’s not hard to see why the Astros are the worst team
in the majors when they make 4 errors and change pitchers 3 times
before the third inning. It was hot, real hot. While the Braves
bats were beating the Astros’ dead horse from the 3rd inning on,
we toured the stadium to stay in the shade. In a column by Mike
Rose, Rocker’s presence and popularity is questioned in Georgia
On My Mind.
Ballpark Perks
Up in right field, there are several attractions that would make
a standing room only ticket a worthy investment. Several patios,
including Turner Beach, sell bar foods and drinks. On this sweltering
day, the Spiked Lemonade was a favorite. Another perk was a row
of misters located on the upper deck on the 3rd baseline. In the
90 degree heat plus humidity, the misters were a little slice of
heaven. At field level outside the stadium were statues of Braves
heroes – Phil Niekro, Hank Aaron, and Warren Spahn.
Ballpark Downers
When it is that hot, misters should be everywhere. There should be
more misters than one section in upper left field.
