Game 29 | Expos, 3 — Padres, 4 | August 19
Ballpark Summary
Before the game, we were treated to a behind the scenes look at
the video/scoreboard booth from a friend. We were told the Padres
had one of the best A/V setups in the majors, and it seemed to be
true. The Jumbotron lit up replays faster and more often than we
saw anywhere else. Go Pad’s.
Ballpark Perks
Outside the stadium, barbeques and beer-filled coolers were the
norm. It was by far the best pre-game scene we’ve scene on stadium
grounds. In archetypal southern California fashion, palm trees line
the CF wall – a nice touch.
Ballpark Downers
‘The Q’, as the locals would have it, does split its time as the
home of the Chargers. The field was in very good shape, though.
San Diego is slated for a new ballpark before 2005 in the downtown
area.
